Information

Forum through which musicians from throughout East Kent may contact each other.

Any musician or musical organisation, professional or amateur, regardless of age or standard, who practises any type of music, and wishes to contact or be contacted by other people in the area to play or sing music together, is eligible to join.

Membership is defined by the payment of an annual subscription
(2009 rate, valid for 2010, is £8 individual, or £12 for any number of members at the same address).

Each member receives a copy of the current list of members, including their contact details. The committee may from time to time arrange social events or variety concerts, usually to raise money for charities, and welcomes members' suggestions for these.

Surely any music promoting organisation (we are registered with Making Music as one such) wants live music making to be a core activity. In 2007, the Musicians' Register promoted two concerts, raising £122 for the Dominican Priory Roof Restoration Fund, and £43 for Oxfam, and in September, 2008 the renamed Canterbury Musicians gave a concert in the Arden Theatre, Faversham, which boosted the theatre's Development Fund by £120. Our concert in September 2009, held at the Dominican Priory, resulted in a donation of just over £70 to Cancer Research UK.

Prospective members, wanting to find out more about us, are welcome to attend our events, or contact us by e-mail or telephone.
